Our fleet of dry freight containers are made out of high strength tensile Corten steel. The average life-span of a container is approximately 25 years. Subject to the end of shipping life condition, a container can be sold-on, and have extended life and purpose either for further transportation or portable storage. Steel is one of the only man-made materials that is entirely recyclable and because of this, any scrap steel is melted down and reused.

The ease of handling of boxes between different modes of transport helps to lessen transit time due to fast loading, unloading and checking at the ports, and improve the overall efficiency in operation whilst minimizing overall transportation costs.

Seaco’s fleet of ISO dry containers are designed so that they can be securely stacked on top of one another to ensure of safety (using a twist lock mechanism), and stability during shipping. Most shipping containers are suitable to be safely stacked up to approximately 9 or 10 containers high subject to the size, weight and condition of the containers and ground conditions. Stacking containers may be a great way of optimizing storage capacity and making the most of available space.
